Knock, Knock, Knock

One early morning while sipping coffee, I was pleasantly surprised by an unexpected e-mail. It was from Melanie Muir ( ), an international jewelry artist from Scotland who works in polymer clay. She was going to be in the area for an art show and wanted to know if I was interested in setting up a class while she was here. There was no hesitation on my part, of course!! It was a brilliant idea.

Costs, a workshop venue, the students . . . not a problem I can’t solve!

I am very fortunate to live in an area full of artistic opportunities and people. I belong to two local groups:

  • South Florida Jewelry Arts Guild (, and
  • Florida Society of Goldsmiths South ( ).

These groups provide camaraderie, workshops, and loads of fun! It is interesting that many of us cross over in these two groups, so it really is one big family. And most of the time we all get along, really!!

So I shouted out to my peeps and they rallied with interest and checks!  Below is what Melanie has planned.

Florida Class Flier

I am very excited this opportunity came knocking. Melanie is a great instructor. The workshop is this weekend and we have a few seats left, if anyone is interested.

Photos to follow!
